About the Fitness Challenge
The Fitness Challenge was founded in 2013 by New Balance athlete Curtis Granderson to motivate kids to get outside and to get moving. Over the past four years, we have grown the program to become a community program to promote our mission to fuel the next generation’s passion for movement and the pursuit of lifelong health, well-being and success. We want to inspire kids to discover and nurture their movement spark. Kids thrive when they are physically active. The goal is to challenge kids to stay active and lead a healthy lifestyle.
The Fitness Challenge consists of 1-day fitness events in multiple cities across the country throughout the summer. The activities will be designed to promote cardiovascular fitness, strength, and flexibility. NB athletes will captain the events, provide inspiration and encouragement and lead fitness games.
The event is tailored for kids 7-13 years of age.
The NB Fitness Challenge is designed to engage the community, to bring awareness to the great work and play areas made possible by our host cities, community partners, and to inspire families to learn the importance of a healthy and active lifestyle and make play fun and safe.
